Relations, events and culture

Culture supplies
the occasion.
Trade follows.

Openet B.V. is the arm of BDS Holding that opens and holds the relationship: institutional cooperation with chambers, confederations and government bodies, the delegations that travel, and the events where buyers and suppliers first meet.

How the group works
  1. OpenetOpens and holds the relationship.
  2. CyberProTurns interest into a specific match, and carries the administration.
  3. ATONDoes the trade — representation and execution.

The institutional framework is held by Openet and is available to all three. A chamber introduction, a delegation or a festival is not a marketing expense here — it is the first stage of a transaction the other two companies finish.

Field of work

Culture

Culture supplies the occasion.

Culture is not decoration here. It supplies the occasion and the audience, and the trade follows in the same room.

Antika World

Trade name · Heritage

The heritage and exhibition name, registered to Openet B.V. at the Chamber of Commerce.

Antika World carries the group’s cultural and heritage work: exhibitions, and certified reproductions of Egyptian antiquities made to museum specification and authenticated by Egypt’s antiquities authority. It is the programming the festivals draw on.

The Litaarafu agreement with the Union of Arab Chambers is signed in the name of Openet B.V. / Antika.

Arabian Nights

Festival · RAI Amsterdam

A festival that turns culture into trade.

An Arab cultural programme staged in a commercial venue — giving business delegations a public occasion to travel for, and Dutch companies a reason to attend.

KEMET International Festival

Festival · International

Egyptian heritage, staged to open commercial doors as well as cultural ones.

KEMET pairs exhibition and cultural programming — heritage, craft, music and food — with structured business introductions, so a delegation travelling for the cultural programme meets counterparties while it is in the country. It also puts the group’s heritage work in front of a public audience.

Field of work

Trade & institutional relations

The room, and the standing to fill it.

The convening work, and the agreements that make it count. Openet holds the institutional framework on behalf of the whole group.

Arab Balkan Trade Expo

Expo · Cairo

The group’s flagship convening event.

It brings Balkan and Dutch industrial principals together with Egyptian and Arab counterparties for structured matchmaking rather than open exhibition. Delegates are prepared against sector briefs and meet a screened list of counterparties.

Part of the ABC Initiative.

The agreements behind it

Union of Arab Chambers

Representative for the Balkans

Ahmed Nasr, Chairman and Chief Executive of BDS Holding, is the Union’s Representative for the Balkans — the apex federation of Arab national chambers.

Litaarafu Initiative

Signed 10 April 2024

An agreement with the Union of Arab Chambers under the League of Arab States. Litaarafu — “Know Each Other” — is a cultural and trade platform.

EgyptAir

Sector partnership

A cooperation agreement with Egypt’s national carrier on the international promotion and revitalisation of Egyptian tourism destinations.

Field of work

Real estate

Where the corridor is built.

Property sits naturally beside the trading business: the cities along the corridor — Sofia, Thessaloniki, Amsterdam — are also the places where the group builds, holds and operates.

V.Estate

Trade name · Operating

The group’s real estate and property arm — the vehicle through which every property mandate runs.

V.Estate works across the full cycle: sourcing sites and buildings, feasibility appraisal, planning and zoning analysis, market study, structuring the transaction, and carrying a project from first appraisal through development to an operating asset. It acts both for the group’s own account and for clients — buy-side where an investor needs the ground checked before committing, owner-side where an asset needs repositioning.

Current work includes mixed-use redevelopment in central Sofia and the retail and hospitality concepts the group develops for itself.

Field of work

Business club

Events end. Relationships should not.

A festival lasts three days and an expo lasts two. The network has to exist on the other three hundred and sixty.

ORIUM

Trade name · In development

A membership business club in Amsterdam for trade, innovation and investment.

Designed as the standing room where corridor relationships are maintained between events — the place the network exists on the days when nothing is being staged.

Arab–Balkans Corridor

The ABC
Initiative

A BDS Holding initiative, held at group level rather than by any one company. It is the sequence of ports, gateways and inland hubs along which goods actually move between the Gulf, Egypt, the Balkans and the Netherlands — a working trade lane rather than a market boundary.

The group

Three companies,
three stages.

BDS Holding B.V., Amsterdam, sits above three operating companies. Each runs its own projects and brands. The holding structures, finances and develops; the subsidiaries operate.
